Bloating was created by Lana Hindmarch
Hi Alison

What salt/s would you recommend for bloating?

I am slender, I eat well and live a healthy lifestyle but have always had a 'pregnant-looking tummy,' since I was young..even as far back as school days! It's not a feeling of just being bloated from time to time. It's more of a permanent, almost distended belly. I also experience mild constipation. I have experimented with leaving out gluten, dairy etc etc, but no shift...so I am wondering if the answer might lie in tissue salts.

I am wondering if I should go for Nat Phos, Nat Sulf or a combo, or something else?

Look forward to your response.

Thank you,
Lana

Hi Lana

Your hunches are good around those two; I would also definitely consider Mag Phos . You could possibly consider the Pure Synergy , which has a good selection of salts relating to elimination and digestive health and add the Mag Phos.

Sometimes with mild constipation, Nat Mur plays a role, as does Calc Fluor and Ferrum Phos, if there is any laxity or sluggishness of the colon. Perhaps give the first lot a try for a month or two, and if it doesn't resolve, add the Arthro Synergy and Nat Mur.

I always like to include Kali Sulph in the digestive system issues given that the digestive system surfaces are comprised of epithelial cells. Both the Pure Synergy and the Arthro Synergy contain this, and it can be a behind-the-scenes helper.

Best wishes,
Alison

Hi Alison

Thank you.
I've been talking the Pure Synergy and Mag Phos for the past 8 days. Not seeing a shift yet.
What dosage should I be taking?

Regards,
Lana

- Also - an unrelated question: for traveling overseas, is it fine to take your salts to countries with strict border control?

Hi Lana

I think it's important to remember that tissue salts aren't medicines that offer instant dramatic change. In correcting deficiencies, you are paying back 'overdrafts' of mineral currencies, and because your physiology carries on making withdrawals, it sometimes takes a while to balance the situation.

Please be prepared to give it a little more time; the general rule is that if something has been a problem for almost as long as you can remember, that it could take at least six months to shift. (Some natural health professionals say that one needs to give it a month for each year that the problem has bothered you.) Of course, one should usually start to see some gradual improvement along the way. I typically ask my clients to give it a go for at least three months before concluding that it's not working. Remember also that we are in heading into a time of year that can put a strain on digestion, liver function and elimination.

As far as dosage goes, if there is no seeming change, try taking 2-3 tabs around each mealtime; 6 - 9 a day depending on how rich the food is that you're having. I'd suggest a minimum of 6 a day of each of them until things start to settle.

I've travelled to many diverse destinations with my tissue salts packed in both hand luggage and the check-in bag. I've never had a problem clearing customs with them. If anyone asks, you can explain that they are health supplements for your personal use.

Have a great trip if you are travelling, and I hope that you're noticing some change by the time you return. If not, you can consider adding the Nat Mur and Arthro Synergy as per the first reply.

Best wishes
Alison
