Hi Allison,

I have recently become pregnant and would love some advice.

I have read your article on tissue salts in pregnancy which suggests I need all of them at various times (which makes sense), however, this conflicts with some other information I have read which recommends:
Month 2 & 6: Calc Flour, Mag Phos, Ferr Phos
Month 3 & 7: Calc Flour, Mag Phos, Nat Mur,
Month 4 & 8: Calc Flour, Nat Mur, Silica
Month 5 & 9: Calc Flour, Ferr Phos, Silica

I was wondering what you thought of the above? Should I purchase the full tissue salt kit plus extra Calc Flour? Would love your thoughts!

Kindest,
Alexandra

Hi Alexandra

Congratulations on your pregnancy and thanks very much for your query.

What concerns me about the regimen you have quoted there is the complete lack of Kali Phos and Calc Phos in particular, but also others that are fundamental in building cells and tissues for your baby without depleting your mineral reserves. I've guided most of my clients, and my daughter-in-law, along the lines of my article.

Calc Fluor is indeed very important, and in my opinion, much more so at that exciting stage once the growth starts expanding your belly! This salt also helps a lot in reducing some of the after-pregnancy woes that befall some women, including stretch marks, problems with veins, stress incontinence and so on.

I think the full set is always fantastic to have on hand, especially if you enjoy using tissue salts and will use them regularly. Some clients use the Rescue Synergy together with Arthro Synergy and add the Pure Synergy if they have nausea or digestive discomfort. Additional Calc Fluor (as above) and Mag Phos are useful if you tend to get cramps in the legs or Braxton Hicks contractions, usually later on. I always like to keep some Ferrum Phos on hand for first-aid purposes. This condensed version is an option for you too if you aren't too familiar with each of the individual tissue salts, and will support you and your baby's development through the pregnancy.

It's really up to your personal preference - the full set of individual salts allows you to very precisely address specific things, whereas using the combination Synergies is more of a 'general multi-mineral' supplement effect. I hope that helps to guide you a little.

Wishing you all the very best!
Alison
